What is personal data?

Personal data refers to data, whether true or not, about an individual who can be identified from that data.

What personal information do we collect?​

We collect the following personal information but not limited to the following:

  • Telephone number
  • Date of birth
  • Education Background
  • Information you provide to us when you
  • Apply for admission to school/centre
  • Apply for job
  • Apply for volunteering work
  • Make a donation

 

How is your personal information used?

Your personal information is created and stored securely in a variety of paper and electronic formats, including databases that are shared within APSN.

Access to your personal information is limited to staffs who have a legitimate interest in it for the purpose of carrying out their contractual duties.

Your personal information is shared and used within APSN for administrative purposes, through which consent has been sought.

Your personal information collected may be stored and processed in Singapore or other countries.

 

To whom do we disclose personal information?

Your personal information is shared with government agencies, statutory bodies or non-government agencies authorised to carry out specific government services or duties, to meet a statutory obligation.

Publication or release of information that is customary by APSN, including but not limited to awards of prizes, medals and student or graduation status.

Your personal information may be disclosed to any contractors, suppliers and third party service providers or agents whether in or outside Singapore where such service providers are sited.

 

How about the security of Your Personal Information?  

We are committed to protecting the security of your personal information. We use a variety of security technologies and procedures to help protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure.

 

How can you withdraw, access and correct your personal information?

If you wish to access, correct, update, suppress, or delete your personal information that has been previously provided to us, please send a written request using the contact details set out below.

Please note that we may need to retain certain information for recordkeeping purposes and/or to complete any transactions that you began prior to requesting such change or deletion.

We may send communications and information about our services and activities that we consider may be of interest to you in various modes, including phone call, mail, SMS and email.

If you do not wish to receive marketing communications from APSN, you may opt-out of receiving them by contacting us using the contact details

We will try to comply with your request(s) as soon as reasonably practicable. Please also note that if you do opt-out of receiving marketing-related communications from us, we may still send you important administrative messages, and you cannot opt-out from receiving administrative messages.

 

What is our retention period?

We will retain your personal information for the period necessary to fulfil any business or legal purposes.
